Grilling is in my DNA! Recently, I was asked who my grilling influencers have been. As a small child, alluring wafts of smoky deliciousness sent me to the backyard to watch Dad. His passion for grilling and smoking meats and seafood was contagious! I would catch him aggressively pruning our fruit trees just to to have wood to toss on the fire. He learned the art of the BBQ from granddad. Gramps was a master at smoking the Thanksgiving turkey, and so it is 65 years later, I am doing the same! I was destined to become #GrillingGrandma!
As a competition cook, I have enjoyed the challenge of developing recipes that balance acid, sweetness, bitterness and salt. Another element I strive for is creativity. Lastly, I love to make #PrettyFood which isn’t always seen in the BBQ world! I bring a unique touch to the smoking and grilling world!
Over the years, I have traveled with a group of grilling influencers to ignite the fire pits, and light every type of grill imaginable. We have gone all out by smoking whole hogs over open fire to making the most delicate Japanese Soufflé Pancakes on the grill.
